God of War is a multimedia video game franchise based on Greek and Norse mythology. Created by David Jaffe at Sony's Santa Monica Studio, the series began with the first game in 2005 for PlayStation 2. God of War Ragnarok, released for PlayStation 5 in 2021, has become a flagship title for the PlayStation brand.
